Introduction

Salam, Hi, Hola, Merhaba,

How are you dear reader? You can skip this section or you can enjoy the journey with me,

I hope everything is fine and hope you are excited because now I will walk you through our journey with telp app :D .

If you are out of time you can skip this part and go directly to the next section. However, if you have time come on with me for a better understanding and to live the journey with us.

This project was in December 2022 with 4 of my classmates, and YES it's a study project but with a real client, so I'm very proud of my team and myself because we achieved a great result within less than 3 weeks. We received the application brief and the business needs from our instructors, so we start doing research about the app, the competitive companies and we arranged a meeting the next day with the client in order to understand the problem, the constraints and the business needs.

After the meeting, I did the project plan, define the tasks, and I assigned them to each member of the team, and HAPPY ME each member was satisfied with the tasks.  AND here where the journey really begins.

We started by doing competitive analysis, App audit, usability testing for the existing app and user interviews, the purpose of all of that was to get insight from the users to make personas and to define the problem.

We defined the problem, but now WHAT is the solution ??? Based on the insights we collected from users and along with the business needs we started brainstorming to identify the possible solutions then we did multiple style guide options and as a team, we selected the one we think it will work for the app.

We arranged another meeting to make sure we are in the right path, and here is where the SHOCK comes from, the client has technical constraints he didn't tell us about in the first meeting that means most of the possible solutions were INVALID and we need to think of solutions that works with the technical constraints,  do the user flow, sketching, wireframing, usability testing, iterations and the final high fidelity prototype within one week.

MOST of the work is within one week???? how will we handle it? too much stress, well, I think we had a superhero power at the time because surprisingly the day before the presentation the mid-fidelity prototype  was not done

and by the morning of the presentation day, usability testing was conducted, iteration was done, and a full interactive high-fidelity prototype was ready to present to the client, WHAT A MIRACLE, not a miracle of course but thanks for me and Nawraa we set all the night working on the prototype and supporting each other.

it was such a nice experience, full of learning, determination, collaboration, stress, a lot of tea, a lot of coffee and not sleeping XD but also a lot of creativity.

Now, after this short story, you can go through our work, and don't hesitate to contact me if you had any questions or any constructive feedback.

ENJOY the journey :D

Empthy

In order to empathize with the users, we conducted usability testing with 6 users, 11 users interview and app audit and here is the research findings:

1.The App is Difficult to use

2. Lack of trust and Leakage

3. Dependency on human resources

4. Telp fee is a bit high

5. No Notifications for new chat messages

6. Needs Reminders for booked sessions

7. Some tutors want to upload their material on the app.

In order to solve some of the problems we identified these possible solutions

1.Apply UX methodologies to simplify the app

2. Reviews

3. Ensure the platform is a safe space

4. Create value in the app

5. Introduce AI technologies (whenever possible)

Define

In this stage, we defined the problem statements, solution statements, personas, Style guide, and Design System.

Personas

Mainly we have 3 personas but the focus is on these two ( if you want to look at all the details of the project please contact me)

Style Guide

for the primary color we chose blue kind of purple to indicate trust and stability, for the font we tried to choose font matches the energy of fun and friendly

Ideate

after defining the problem and the solution, we conducted a design studio to unify our thoughts to ideate the user flows.

Prototype

some of the mid-fidelity pages from the tutor flow

Test

Itreations

1. Add the progress bar

2.  Add the currency

3. change the box style to make sure the user will understand its not clickable

Prototype

Here are some screens of both student and tutors flow
